Kristen'S Irresistible Old-Fashioned Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 can Carnation evaporated milk
    3 scant c. Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    2 sticks real butter
    1 Tbsp. pure vanilla
    1 c. pecans or walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    In heavy 6-quart or larger boiler, combine sugar and evaporated milk. Bring to a full boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and stir in butter.
    Add chocolate morsels, vanilla and nuts, mixing until smooth. Quickly pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and refrigerate until firm.
