Hankins Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. applesauce
3 c. flour
dash of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
1 c. or 1/2 lb. box dates
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. hot water
1 c. pecans, rolled in flour
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Mix butter, sugar and egg, then add applesauce, flour and spices.
Then add all together dates, soda and 1/2 cup hot water. Work dates until mushy (like potatoes).
Add 1 cup raisins, 1 cup pecans rolled in flour and vanilla.
