Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 qt. pail of small, green tomatoes
    6 med. onions
    1/2 c. salt
    3 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice (in cloth bag)
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes and onions, and sprinkle with salt.
    Let stand overnight.
    Drain, rinse with cold water and drain again.
