Wheat Germ Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour, divided
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. wheat germ
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. warm water
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
Preparation
    In a large bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, wheat germ and salt.
    Add water, molasses, shortening and egg; mix again. Gradually stir in remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
    Cover; let rise until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
    Punch down dough. Place in greased 9-inch loaf pan or 2-quart casserole.
    Cover and let rise about 45 minutes.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 50 minutes or until deep, golden brown.
    Remove from pan and cool before slicing.
