Grandma Alzeta'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
    1 c. milk
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 c. dark corn syrup
    dash of salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 egg, separated (beat white, then add yolk)
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cocoa.
    Add milk and syrup until completely mixed.
    Add salt and butter.
    Stir frequently on low heat.
    Cook mixture until it forms a hard ball in water.
    Add vanilla and egg. Be sure to stir so not to become stringy.
    Beat by hand 15 to 20 minutes.
    Pour in buttered pan and refrigerate.
