Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. water
    3 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/4 c. pickling salt
    2 Tbsp. whole allspice
    2 to 3 cinnamon sticks
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices in cloth bag
    beets
Preparation
    Make liquid mixture with vinegar, water, brown sugar, white sugar and salt.
    Bring to a boil.
    Take 6 or 7 pounds of beets and cook in a hot water bath until skins come off easily.
    Cut up and put in jars.
    Pour liquid mixture over beets and seal.
