Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 oz. red food coloring
1 oz. warm water
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, coloring, water, vanilla and salt, mixing well after each.
Add
a
mixture
of the soda and vinegar.
Add sifted
flour and buttermilk alternately. Bake in 2 (9-inch) layer or 9
x
13-inch loaf pan at 350\u00b0.
Cool and ice with Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing.
