Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed
    6 to 8 slices bacon, cooked
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces and layer ingredients in order given.
    Sprinkle crumbled bacon over all.
    Mix mayonnaise with sugar and spread over salad.
    Let set overnight.
    Before serving, stir in cheese and mix mayonnaise into salad.
