Raised Buckwheat Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. cornmeal
    1/2 yeast cake
    1/4 c. warm water
    1/3 c. hot milk
    1 Tbsp. molasses
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. buckwheat flour
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over the cornmeal and let stand until it swells.
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water. After cornmeal is cool, add molasses, salt, yeast and flour.
    Beat thoroughly and set in a warm place to rise overnight.
    It should rise and fall again in the morning.
    Add soda dissolved in hot milk.
    Stir well. Bake on a hot griddle.
