May'S Whole Wheat Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 pkg. Hodgkin's Mills yeast
    1 c. water
    2 c. whole wheat flour
    3 c. regular plain flour
    1 well beaten egg
    ground graham crackers
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix first 3 ingredients.
    Let cool. Mix sugar, yeast and 1 cup water.
    Let stand while first mixture cools.
    Sift flour.
    Mix all liquids together.
    Add flour, one cup at a time until all liquids and dry ingredients are combined. Place in large, greased bowl.
    Cover and let rise in warm place until double.
    Punch down and let rise.
    Sprinkle surface with ground graham crackers.
    Roll out and cut.
    Bake on greased baking sheet until browned.
