Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken up
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 c. mayonnaise
    3 hard-cooked eggs
    grated Cheddar cheese
    1 can water chestnuts, sliced
    1 (20 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    6 slices bacon, cooked
    tomato wedges
Preparation
    Layer lettuce, onion, peas and water chestnuts.
    Seal with mayonnaise.
    Let set at least 8 hours.
    Then add chopped eggs, crumbled bacon bits and grated cheese.
    Garnish with tomato wedges.
