English Toffee Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter (not oleo)
    4 regular size Hershey bars
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar, butter and water.
    Cook to 300\u00b0, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Lay 4 Hershey bars on top.
    Spread lightly when melted.
    Sprinkle pecans on top; break into pieces when hard. This freezes well.
