Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
    Pour hot water over sugar, salt and shortening.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add 1/2 cup flour and mix thoroughly.
    Stir in softened yeast half of remaining flour and egg; beat.
    Add enough flour to form a soft dough.
    Turn out on lightly floured board and let rest 5 to 10 minutes.
    Knead until smooth and elastic.
    Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
    Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
    Punch down and grease top.
    Cover with dampened towel and refrigerate.
