Christmas Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
    1 c .milk
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Butter sides of 2-quart saucepan.
    Combine sugar, cocoa, salt and milk.
    Stir until sugar dissolves.
    Cook to soft ball in cold water.
    Cool before beating.
    Let butter melt on top of hot mixture.
    Do not jar candy while cooling.
