My Favorite Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. potatoes, sliced
    6 Tbsp. butter
    6 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 c. cream
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 c. medium cheddar cheese, shredded, optional
    Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cook potatoes in boiling, salted water until partially cooked.
    Drain and arrange in a casserole dish. Melt butter in a saucepan; add flour, mixing well.\tAdd milk, cream, chicken broth, and onions.
    Cook, stirring until thickened. Add salt and pepper.
    Pour over potatoes.
    Bake for 45 minutes or until lightly brown.
    Sprinkle the cheese on potatoes during the last 15 minutes of cooking time.
