Pulled Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put first 4 ingredients into deep saucepan.
    Cook over low heat.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook, without stirring, to the hard ball stage or to 268\u00b0 by candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into a shallow buttered pan to cool.
