Hardie'S Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 large Tbsp. softened lard
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
Preparation
    Mix flour, buttermilk and lard with a spoon.
    Knead very, very lightly.
    Pat dough out (do not roll) until about 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits.
    Brush with melted margarine.
    Put on bottom rack of preheated 400\u00b0 oven.
    Take out when brown on bottom (about 15 to 20 minutes).
    Butter again.
    Put on top rack and broil for just a few minutes.
    Watch carefully as they will burn.
