Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1/2 c. nutmeats
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add next ingredients in order given, then chill.
Use small amounts to form balls or flatten with thumb.
Make thumbprint in each and fill with very small amount of apricot jam.
Use egg white and 1/4 cup sugar, beaten together and spread over each cookie.
Bake 12 1/2 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
Makes 2 dozen cookies.
