Mother'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. buttermilk
Preparation
    Have all ingredients at room temperature.
    Cream together butter, shortening, sugar and flavoring.
    Add eggs and cream until fluffy.
    Sift together dry ingredients. Stir into mixture until smooth.
    Blend in buttermilk.
    Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 400\u00b0 for about 12 minutes. Cool.
    This will make about 5 dozen cookies.
