Apple Pudding With Nutmeg Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 1/2 c. peeled, grated apples
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg, beating well.
    Combine dry ingredients and apples.
    Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in nuts.
    Pour mixture into a lightly greased, shallow 1-quart casserole dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
    Serve with Nutmeg Sauce.
