Cornbread Pie - cooking recipe

1 c. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 c. tomato soup
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 lb. ground chuck or round
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. water
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda
small can cream-style corn
Preparation

Brown meat in shortening using heavy iron skillet.
Add onion, 1 teaspoon salt, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, soup and water and bring to boil.
Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, soda, egg and corn.
Pour over chili mixture and bake 20 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Serves 6.
