Countryside Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. sliced onion
    6 c. red cabbage, shredded
    1 apple, cored, pared and shredded
    1 c. orange juice
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 bay leaf
    2 oranges, peeled and sectioned
Preparation
    In a large kettle or Dutch oven, melt butter; saute onion until soft.
    Add cabbage, apple, orange juice, salt and bay leaf; mix well.
    Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally 1 1/2 hours until liquid is absorbed and cabbage is tender.
    Just before serving, stir in orange sections.
    Makes 6 servings.
