Swedish Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. blanched almonds
    2 c. California walnut halves
    1 c. sugar
    dash of salt
    2 stiffly beaten egg whites
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
Preparation
    Toast nuts in slow oven (325\u00b0) until light brown.
    Fold sugar and salt into egg whites.
    Beat until stiff peaks form, then fold in nuts.
    Melt butter in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan.
    Spread nut mixture over butter.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until nuts are coated with a brown coating and no butter is left in pan.
    Cool.
