Poor Boy'S Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 possum (with skin on)
    2 red hot peppers
    salt and pepper to taste
    8 medium sweet potatoes
Preparation
    Wet possum and roast in hot oak ashes.
    Then remove and pick hair off possum.
    Roast in ashes again to remove excess hair and fuzz.
    Wash possum thoroughly to remove all ashes and cut it up. Place possum in boiler, large enough to hold, and cover with water.
    Add salt, black pepper and red pepper. Boil until tender.
