Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. sliced unpeeled cucumbers (squash may also be used)
    1 c. sliced onions
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Mix cucumbers, onions and salt with
    ice water and cover for 1 hour.
    Drain.
    Heat vinegar, sugar and pickling spice to boiling. Cool.
    Add to cucumbers.
    Store in refrigerator or freeze.
