Chili Steak And Beans - cooking recipe

2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cumin (optional)
1 lb. beef boneless round steak (3/4-inch thick), cut into 1-inch pieces
3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 large stalks celery, sliced (about 1 1/2 c.)
1 large onion, chopped
2 medium carrots, cut into 1/4-inch slices (about 1 c.)
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. chili sauce
1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
1 medium green pepper, cut into 1/4-inch strips
Preparation

Mix flour, salt, pepper and cumin.
Coat beef steak pieces with flour mixture.
Brown beef in oil in 10-inch skillet.
Stir in celery, onion, carrots, water and chili sauce.
Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until beef is tender, 45 to 60 minutes.
Add kidney beans (with liquid) and green pepper.
Cover and simmer until beans are hot and green pepper is crisp-tender, about 10 minutes.
Can be served over rice.
