Pecan Pie Surprise Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. butter or yellow cake mix, divided
1/2 c. margarine, melted
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling.
Combine remaining dry cake mix, margarine and 1 egg in large bowl; mix well until crumbly.
Press into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes, until light brown.
Combine reserved cake mix, corn syrup, sugar, 3 eggs and vanilla; beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes.
Pour over crust; sprinkle with pecans.
Continue baking for 30 to 35 minutes, until filling is set.
Cool; cut into squares.
Yields 3 dozen.
Serve warm, if possible.
Add 1 dab of Cool Whip.
