24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    dash of salt
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. pineapple syrup
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1 c. heavy cream, whipped or Cool Whip
    2 c. white cherries
    2 c. quartered marshmallows
    2 c. pineapple bits
    2 oranges, cut in pieces
Preparation
    Cook egg yolk, sugar, salt, vinegar, pineapple, syrup and butter in double boiler until thick; cool.
    Fold in whipped cream, white cherries, marshmallows, pineapple and oranges.
    May add maraschino cherries, if desired.
    Chill overnight.
