Chocolate Date Nut Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or oleo
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 c. sugar
4 large eggs
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
In a large saucepan, over low heat, melt butter and chocolate.
Remove from heat.
Gradually stir in sugar until well blended.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in flour, dates, nuts, vanilla and salt until smooth.
Spread in pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until center is set (do not overbake). Cool in pan on wire rack.
Cut into bars.
Makes 32 (2 x 1 1/2-inch) bars.
