Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 Tbsp. butter
4 lb. cabbage, shredded
2 medium onions, chopped
2 Tbsp. white or rye flour (rye flour is better)
6 c. water
1 (10 oz.) can chicken broth or 4 bouillon cubes
2 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes (2 c.)
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. salt (omit salt if using bouillon)
Preparation

Melt butter in a large kettle.
Stir in cabbage and onions; mix well.
Cook for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over top and mix well.
Gradually add water.
Heat until it boils.
Add broth, sugar, pepper, caraway seed, tomatoes, lemon juice and salt. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
