Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

medium head lettuce
2 to 3 stems celery
small onion
2 medium green peppers
8 oz. shredded mild Cheddar cheese
12 oz. frozen peas
8 oz. jar mayo
4 oz. sour cream
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 bacon bits
Preparation

Chop up lettuce finely, covering the bottom of a 14 x 9 x 2-inch rectangular pan. On top of lettuce, layer with diced up celery, onion and green pepper. Place frozen peas in a colander and run cold water over them. Drain peas, then layer over diced vegetables. Set aside. Mix mayo, sour cream and sugar together. Spread over peas. Sprinkle cheese over mayo mixture, then do the same with bacon bits. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Can be cut into squares.
