Gumdrop Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 2 lb. gumdrops, cut up
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1 lb. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 c. butter
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation

Dissolve soda in hot water and set aside.
Sift together all other dry ingredients using part of flour to coat gumdrops, nuts and raisins.
Cream sugar and butter and add well beaten eggs. Stir in soda and applesauce, then add gumdrops, raisins and nuts. Bake 2 hours in 325\u00b0 oven.
A tube pan is best for this.
