Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 sticks butter
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. flour (plain)
    1 c. milk
    5 eggs
    3 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract
    salt
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar until creamy. Add sifted flour and salt alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each.
    Add flavoring and pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Put into cold oven and turn to 300\u00b0.
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
    Do not open oven until cake is done.
