Thirteen Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried mixed beans
    2 qt. water
    1 to 2 lb. ham slice, diced
    1 large chopped onion
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 tsp. chili powder
    juice of 1 lemon
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Cover beans with water and soak overnight; drain.
    Add water and ham.
    Boil; simmer for 3 hours.
    Add rest of ingredients. Salt and pepper to taste.
    Simmer for 30 to 60 minutes.
    Dish and serve.
    This soup also freezes nicely.
