Fred'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1 c. salted peanuts
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Butter (grease) cookie sheet and set aside.
    Stir white sugar and corn syrup into a 2-quart bowl and microwave on High for 4 minutes.
    Add salted peanuts and microwave on High for 4 minutes. Add butter and vanilla; stir in well and microwave on High for 1 1/2 minutes.
    Add baking soda.
    Stir gently until foamy.
    Pour quickly into buttered cookie sheet.
    When brittle has cooled sufficiently to touch with tips of the fingers, pick up the batch of brittle and turn it over.
    This forces the peanuts to come to the surface on both sides.
    When hardened, break with a small hammer.
