7 Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    bacon bits
    1 head lettuce or raw spinach, torn in bite size pieces
    1/2 c. chopped green onion
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1 can water chestnuts, thinly sliced, or cucumbers, sliced
    2 pkg. uncooked frozen peas
    1 pt. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    4 tomatoes, thinly sliced and dried on paper towel
Preparation
    Place spinach on bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan or large bowl. Spread green onion, then celery.
    Add the water chestnuts or cucumbers, then the peas.
    Spread the mayonnaise next; sprinkle with sugar and Parmesan cheese.
    Cover; place in refrigerator overnight.
