Grandmother'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1 c. molasses or sorghum
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. hot water
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
-
Cream sugar and
shortening.
Add
eggs, mix well; then add molasses, spices and
salt.
Stir
in
flour;
add
water. Pour in greased pan.
Bake
in 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Put in 7 x 11-inch pan.
