French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    4 c. thinly sliced onions
    5 envelopes instant beef broth
    4 c. water
    6 slices French bread
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Heat butter in frying pan.
    Add onions and saute slowly until golden and very soft, stirring occasionally.
    Combine beef broth and water in saucepan.
    Add onions and bring to boiling point. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
