Zucchini Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 c. sliced squash
    2 large sliced onions
    2 tsp. mustard
    2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 pinches of alum
Preparation
    Put sliced squash in large kettle. Add onions. Mix together in a bowl the vinegar, mustard, turmeric, celery seed, sugar, salt and alum. Pour over squash and bring to a boil.
    Cook 15 to 20 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
    Makes 6 pints.
