Spiced Scalloped Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 bay leaf
    2 whole cloves
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 c. fresh bread crumbs
    2 to 3 Tbsp. melted butter
Preparation
    Cook
    tomatoes
    until soft; add seasonings.
    Boil for 5 minutes;
    remove
    bay leaf and cloves.
    Layer with bread cubes in buttered
    baking
    dish; cover with butter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 10 to 15 minutes.
    Yields 4 servings.
