Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
4 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. salt
3 lb. shelled pecans
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. dates
Preparation

Cream sugar and margarine; add egg yolks one at a time, then add vanilla.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Then sift over nuts and dates.
Mix this to cream mixture.
Last, add 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into greased tube pan.
Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Cool in pan.
