Butterscotch Date Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. plain milk
6 Tbsp. margarine
2 egg yolks
1 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
dash of salt
1/2 c. sliced pitted dates
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped
1/4 c. chopped nuts
baked pie shell or graham cracker crust
Preparation

In double boiler, heat the milk with butter.
Beat egg yolks, then stir in combined sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add to heated milk.
Cook over boiling water, stirring until thick and smooth. Add dates and vanilla.
Refrigerate until cold.
Turn into baked pie shell and refrigerate.
Just before serving garnish with whipped cream or Cool Whip and sprinkle nuts on top.
