Fresh Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. cranberries, chopped
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
Combine juice and rind with egg. Pour into dry ingredients.
Mix just enough to dampen.
Carefully fold in nuts and chopped cranberries.
Spoon into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
Spread corners slightly higher than centers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, until crust is golden brown.
