Sour Milk Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    4 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Beat eggs until light; add sugar and beat smooth.
    Stir in melted shortening
    and
    vanilla.
    Add,
    alternating
    milk, flour, baking powder, soda
    and salt, mixing to a smooth, soft dough. Turn out on a
    floured surface; knead, pat and roll to 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut with
    floured
    cutter.
