Ingredients
    1 pt. milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 heaping tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    In a large bowl, mix milk and cornmeal.
    Stir in beaten egg, then add remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Pour batter into a greased and lightly floured pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
