Mama'S Pear Chip Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. chip pear pieces
    2 lb. sugar plus 1 c.
    1 pt. water
Preparation
    Boil 30 minutes, covered.
    Remove lid and boil, uncovered, until mixture turns red and syrup thickens.
    Put in clean, sterilized jars and seal.
