Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. beef, cubed
    1/4 lb. pork, cubed
    1/4 lb. veal, cubed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. bead molasses
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 can fancy Chinese vegetables
    cornstarch
Preparation
    Brown meat in small amount of oil.
    Add sugar, bead molasses, soy sauce, onion and celery.
    Add enough water to keep from burning.
    Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Add Chinese vegetables. Continue cooking until vegetables are heated.
    Mix cornstarch with cold water; use to thicken gravy.
    Serve over rice or chow mein noodles.
