Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 c. water
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    5 1/2 lb. apples
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients and add water and lemon juice.
    Cook until thick. Peel apples and core and slice. Pack apples in quart jars. Cover with sugar liquid.
    Boil water bath for 20 minutes.
    Yields 7 quarts.
