Egg White Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar gradually, beating until very stiff peaks hold.
    Fold in finely chopped pecans and vanilla.
    Spread in 8-inch pie tin; build up sides 1/2-inch.
    Bake in slow oven (300\u00b0) for 50 to 55 minutes.
    Cool.
    Delicious for frozen strawberry pie or any icebox pies.
