Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 lb. cubed pork, beef or chicken
    2 c. finely chopped celery
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 1/2 c. hot water
    extra water chestnuts (optional)
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 large can chop suey vegetables, drained
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Cook until thickened.
    Serve over rice or chow mein noodles.
